Shattered But Not Broken

Shattered but not broken. Relationships gone south
Shattered but not broken. Relationships gone south

Walking along the roads of life can sometimes get lonely.  We can find ourselves looking for ways to fit in and not standout.  Fitting where we can, allowing us to use just enough power to slide or glide by where we fit comfortable.  Sometime the comfortable fitting may allow for more room and yet we find ourselves squeezing into tight places.  We fit.  We accept.  We begin not to want more room only desiring to fill the room we are in.   Living in a house of glass allows you to see through to the outer.  If you squeeze into this glass house, over time the glass will began to crack in dry places where there’s no moisture, or constantly trying to hold on to the little moisture provided.  As the moisture slowly dissipates you find yourself stuck on the inside of the glass house which eventually shatters.

As we continue on the road of life, at some point we’ll have experienced a failed relationship.  Just because the glass shatters; it doesn’t have to be broken.  If you’ve experienced a failed relationship, use the clear view you were given by looking inward, and fix what’s broken and not shattered.

This is the time to pick up the pieces, mend and begin to build a new house upon the foundation that has already been laid.  While living in a glass house, take the opportunity to see the light shining through.  Use it as a guide to living a more rewarding life; continuing to build your house on the foundation already laid and that’s Jesus Christ!

Thank God you didn’t live in a house of brick which can block your view.  At least living in a glass house can allow more light to shine through, allowing you to see your way out.

Acts 4:11 (NIV)

He is the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone.

Tarzan-Jane Man Woman Relationship

more courage-less fear

Man meets woman

Tarzan makes an echoing call while swinging from trees traveling to his destination.  Jane hears Tarzan’s call and begins to follow where the sound travels leading her to meet up with Tarzan.

Tarzan and Jane are a good example of man needing woman and woman needing man.  They lived in the jungle among all the beasts in the state of fruition.

Where are Jane and Tarzan at today?  Here we are man and woman living out of the jungle and yet some men and women are acting like they’re in a jungle.

Out of all the fruitfulness that surrounds man and woman, it appears they still can’t find the ripe fruit for the picking.   Until man and woman are capable of understanding it’s not meant for man (humankind) to be alone, I’m guessing the men will keep beckoning and calling in a language no one will ever recognize but them. And women will continue listening for the sound of music with the perfect rhythm that timely beats with her heart.  Until man and woman come together as one, collaborating, celebrating, COMMUNICATING and loving unconditionally, they will remain fruitless.

I was inspired to write this article after attending a conference of 1100 women. We did an exercise where each person stared into the eyes of nine other women, one at a time, looking into their eyes, the window of their soul; I felt the tears of pain, loneliness, anger, and failed relationships crying out for help.  After the exercise, I continued thinking as I was looking out into the crowd and then later that evening I had a revelation… men were missing, period.  Men and women are the seasoning for life along with Christ! Listen to Yourself

I can hear you loud and clear
Talking Too Much!

Recently while in a recorded session with my coach, after listening to the recording, I learned a lot about myself.  If we take the time to listen to ourselves, we’ll learn more about ourselves than we’ll know about others.  When you’re open to change, you look for areas you can change.  Sometimes it may be shocking or a reflection of words you have heard in the past, from a parent, teacher, friend or sibling.  Words you’ve even expressed to others like, are you ready?  You Talk Too Much!

Well, I can proudly say  …”I talked too much”   I was going on and on until I got on “my own” nerves! There’s a blessing in the lesson.  God is always on time with His testing.   When we take time to evaluate ourselves, we’ll know when enough has been said.

This experience has prepared me for my future interviews.  I’ll be prepared to snip it, lip it, nip it or clip it when needed.

  • When is the last time, you did a self evaluation?
  • What did you learn?
  • Do you have a plan for correction?
  • What’s the plan?

My father often said...” Sweep around your own front door, before you sweep around mine”.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 (NIV)

As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words.

Be Quick to Listen and Slow to Speak!

listen to your Heart

Be quick to listen with your heart and slow to speak with your mind.  Allow time for yourself and stop allowing more time for others to speak to you with their minds.  When you quiet yourself and quiet the mind, you can hear the heart speaking to you.  If you’re inquiring about time, I’m only assuming you may be asking.

  • When Lord?  When will it be my time?
  • When will change come for me?
  • How long do I have to wait?

You may hear your heart speaking saying, in the appointed time you will reap the harvest.  It’s not man’s time, it’s Gods time.  How much time have you spent studying the word of God?  Your time comes from knowing and recognizing the Shepherd’s voice.  If you’re quick to speak and not hear from listening, you’ll never know when the time is your time, it’s God’s time and now is the time to listen to your heart and let it speak words of wisdom to you so that you’ll know when the time comes.  Growing from sowing comes from knowing the words of God.

  • What do you want to grow?
  • Have you been thinking about starting a business?
  • You desire to have a closer relationship with your children?
  • Does it seem as though everything you put your hands on is falling apart?
  • Have you been cutout from a cut back?

There’s only one, who controls all, we must follow the plan given to us to succeed.  It lies amongst all the organs within your trunk of gifts with body parts, and it’s up to you to develop and unveil your hidden treasures buried within.  Only you can do what’s meant for you to do.  If you were given more time and not believed in the power within you, it has nothing to do with time, it has to do with you and me wasting our time, not awakening the Artist within to craft the lifestyle of our dreams.

Listening and Doing –

James 1:19 (NIV)

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this:  Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

Forest Of Thoughts

Forest of thoughts

In the forest there’s something for all of us. It’s filled with struggles and success.  The success grows bigger as well as the weeds.  In life we are challenged just as animals are in the forest.

You have the weak sowing, good seeds, but yet taking refuge from the strong and evil.  They remain hidden, knowing once captured their roots will be cut off, known as people of little faith.

Then there’s the proud as it grows expanding its trunk, becoming bigger and boastful.

Then there are the ones in the forest with courage, who continue to walk by faith and not by sight.   Praying and praying, knowing during its dry seasons the mist from the morning dew will provide moisture needed for survival; waiting on the harvesters to gather the weeds, binding them, casting them into the fire.

Which forest of thoughts is in your mind right now?

Let’s look at the Ant and the Elephant, they’re both strong.   The ant can carry more than 10 times its size in weight and the Elephant is the largest land mammal walking the earth with enormous more strength than an ant.

  • Is the ant the weakest by being the smallest?
  • Is the Elephant the strongest because of its large trunk?
  • If the Ant was the same size as the Elephant would it be the strongest?
  • If the Elephant was the same size as the Ant, would it be the weakest?

There are many places an Ant can go, the Elephant can’t.  Most places an Elephant can go and so can an Ant.  Sometime being small has greater advantages than being big.  It’s not about the size.  It’s about your strength.

Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Matthew 13:37 (NIV)

The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.  The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom.  The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil.  The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

When it’s time for the harvest, you must be able to choose the good fruit and turn away from the bad.  “Stay connected to the vine”

Bound By Our Thoughts

Bound by our thoughts

Being bound by our thoughts can oftentime be like a cord of three strands not quickly broken. It’s always the small things that trip us from moving forward.

Have you been holding on to something that has you bound from your thoughts?  I have.  I find when I pray about it, the things that were holding me bound, begin to drift away.  When the small things start to appear, I hold onto thoughts to inspire, knowing…

  • You can’t compare yourself with other people.
  • There’s only one of you.
  • You don’t need man to validate you.
  • You’ve already been validated.
  • Can’t anybody do, what you can do but you.
  • Pray without ceasing.

As I changed my thoughts from words to images in my mind, I began to see a brighter picture. I began to grow spiritually with confirmation.. We must put our heart in it and not our mind.  The heart knows when to tell the mind to BACK DOWN!

Help Get Me Out Of Here!

Close your eyes.. count to three... Now open!
Close your eyes.. count to three… Now open!

I understand where you R. Been there and at times will find myself going back there. Where? Where no one wants to be alone, where there are people and yet they don’t see or hear you, and yet you feel alone. Where everyone talks about what they want to talk about and hear and yet when it’s your turn, you’re left alone. You live in a house filled with people or a mind filled with voices and yet you feel alone. People are everywhere and still there’s no one to talk to…

So you walk around like a big tear drop waiting to fall. Knowing if and when you fall the rain will come and wash your tear drops away. So you hold back and keep going knowing one day the sun will shine and dry all your tears away…..

It seems as though it’s hard getting out of there. You get there and realize the grass is not as green over there. If you didn’t go there, you wouldn’t be here. Now can you see yourself getting here from there?

Help and get me from there to here!

Life may try to flip us from one side to the other. Even though I sleep on my right side, I find myself turning on to my left side. After lying there for a few hours, I managed to turn back onto the right side and all the time while laying on the side that’s uncomfortable I asked myself …”why am I sleeping on the side that’s uncomfortable”? my answer .. “the side that’s comfortable to sleep on got uncomfortable”. When we get to comfortable, the comfortable becomes uncomfortable and can cause us to switch sides. If you choose the right side to find comfort … He promises to keep you in perfect peace as long as your mind stays on Him…… for further discussion read Isaiah 26:3

Where are you?  How did you get there?

It’s as simple to get out of there as it was getting here.
