Listen to Yourself

I can hear you loud and clear
Talking Too Much!

Recently while in a recorded session with my coach, after listening to the recording, I learned a lot about myself.  If we take the time to listen to ourselves, we’ll learn more about ourselves than we’ll know about others.  When you’re open to change, you look for areas you can change.  Sometimes it may be shocking or a reflection of words you have heard in the past, from a parent, teacher, friend or sibling.  Words you’ve even expressed to others like, are you ready?  You Talk Too Much!

Well, I can proudly say  …”I talked too much”   I was going on and on until I got on “my own” nerves! There’s a blessing in the lesson.  God is always on time with His testing.   When we take time to evaluate ourselves, we’ll know when enough has been said.

This experience has prepared me for my future interviews.  I’ll be prepared to snip it, lip it, nip it or clip it when needed.

  • When is the last time, you did a self evaluation?
  • What did you learn?
  • Do you have a plan for correction?
  • What’s the plan?

My father often said...” Sweep around your own front door, before you sweep around mine”.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 (NIV)

As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words.

Be Quick to Listen and Slow to Speak!

listen to your Heart

Be quick to listen with your heart and slow to speak with your mind.  Allow time for yourself and stop allowing more time for others to speak to you with their minds.  When you quiet yourself and quiet the mind, you can hear the heart speaking to you.  If you’re inquiring about time, I’m only assuming you may be asking.

  • When Lord?  When will it be my time?
  • When will change come for me?
  • How long do I have to wait?

You may hear your heart speaking saying, in the appointed time you will reap the harvest.  It’s not man’s time, it’s Gods time.  How much time have you spent studying the word of God?  Your time comes from knowing and recognizing the Shepherd’s voice.  If you’re quick to speak and not hear from listening, you’ll never know when the time is your time, it’s God’s time and now is the time to listen to your heart and let it speak words of wisdom to you so that you’ll know when the time comes.  Growing from sowing comes from knowing the words of God.

  • What do you want to grow?
  • Have you been thinking about starting a business?
  • You desire to have a closer relationship with your children?
  • Does it seem as though everything you put your hands on is falling apart?
  • Have you been cutout from a cut back?

There’s only one, who controls all, we must follow the plan given to us to succeed.  It lies amongst all the organs within your trunk of gifts with body parts, and it’s up to you to develop and unveil your hidden treasures buried within.  Only you can do what’s meant for you to do.  If you were given more time and not believed in the power within you, it has nothing to do with time, it has to do with you and me wasting our time, not awakening the Artist within to craft the lifestyle of our dreams.

Listening and Doing –

James 1:19 (NIV)

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this:  Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

Forest Of Thoughts

Forest of thoughts

In the forest there’s something for all of us. It’s filled with struggles and success.  The success grows bigger as well as the weeds.  In life we are challenged just as animals are in the forest.

You have the weak sowing, good seeds, but yet taking refuge from the strong and evil.  They remain hidden, knowing once captured their roots will be cut off, known as people of little faith.

Then there’s the proud as it grows expanding its trunk, becoming bigger and boastful.

Then there are the ones in the forest with courage, who continue to walk by faith and not by sight.   Praying and praying, knowing during its dry seasons the mist from the morning dew will provide moisture needed for survival; waiting on the harvesters to gather the weeds, binding them, casting them into the fire.

Which forest of thoughts is in your mind right now?

Let’s look at the Ant and the Elephant, they’re both strong.   The ant can carry more than 10 times its size in weight and the Elephant is the largest land mammal walking the earth with enormous more strength than an ant.

  • Is the ant the weakest by being the smallest?
  • Is the Elephant the strongest because of its large trunk?
  • If the Ant was the same size as the Elephant would it be the strongest?
  • If the Elephant was the same size as the Ant, would it be the weakest?

There are many places an Ant can go, the Elephant can’t.  Most places an Elephant can go and so can an Ant.  Sometime being small has greater advantages than being big.  It’s not about the size.  It’s about your strength.

Psalm 27:14 (NIV)

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Matthew 13:37 (NIV)

The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.  The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom.  The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil.  The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

When it’s time for the harvest, you must be able to choose the good fruit and turn away from the bad.  “Stay connected to the vine”

Bound By Our Thoughts

Bound by our thoughts

Being bound by our thoughts can oftentime be like a cord of three strands not quickly broken. It’s always the small things that trip us from moving forward.

Have you been holding on to something that has you bound from your thoughts?  I have.  I find when I pray about it, the things that were holding me bound, begin to drift away.  When the small things start to appear, I hold onto thoughts to inspire, knowing…

  • You can’t compare yourself with other people.
  • There’s only one of you.
  • You don’t need man to validate you.
  • You’ve already been validated.
  • Can’t anybody do, what you can do but you.
  • Pray without ceasing.

As I changed my thoughts from words to images in my mind, I began to see a brighter picture. I began to grow spiritually with confirmation.. We must put our heart in it and not our mind.  The heart knows when to tell the mind to BACK DOWN!

Help Get Me Out Of Here!

Close your eyes.. count to three... Now open!
Close your eyes.. count to three… Now open!

I understand where you R. Been there and at times will find myself going back there. Where? Where no one wants to be alone, where there are people and yet they don’t see or hear you, and yet you feel alone. Where everyone talks about what they want to talk about and hear and yet when it’s your turn, you’re left alone. You live in a house filled with people or a mind filled with voices and yet you feel alone. People are everywhere and still there’s no one to talk to…

So you walk around like a big tear drop waiting to fall. Knowing if and when you fall the rain will come and wash your tear drops away. So you hold back and keep going knowing one day the sun will shine and dry all your tears away…..

It seems as though it’s hard getting out of there. You get there and realize the grass is not as green over there. If you didn’t go there, you wouldn’t be here. Now can you see yourself getting here from there?

Help and get me from there to here!

Life may try to flip us from one side to the other. Even though I sleep on my right side, I find myself turning on to my left side. After lying there for a few hours, I managed to turn back onto the right side and all the time while laying on the side that’s uncomfortable I asked myself …”why am I sleeping on the side that’s uncomfortable”? my answer .. “the side that’s comfortable to sleep on got uncomfortable”. When we get to comfortable, the comfortable becomes uncomfortable and can cause us to switch sides. If you choose the right side to find comfort … He promises to keep you in perfect peace as long as your mind stays on Him…… for further discussion read Isaiah 26:3

Where are you?  How did you get there?

It’s as simple to get out of there as it was getting here.

Describe yourself by color ….

Self-Help, Color choices
What color would you use to describe yourself ?

There are many colors to choose.  So many, I truly don’t know where to start.  Let’s say I start with a recognizable movie title, “Lady sings the Blues”.  Does this mean we associate the color blue with a life filled with drugs, depression, drama, gifts and talents that were used and abused?  Or does it mean we color the day blue because of fear and hope intertwined that’s smoldering out a hopeless fire that’s never had an opportunity to burn.

All the fire inside heating up passion, that never gets a chance to ignite, from the gift of love.  Love is there in us; we were created with love.  Somewhere somehow, it was lost or never felt it was given.  This is a hard one to figure out for most, yet simple for myself to think about.

May I ask a question?  Do you love yourself?  To love, we must know love.  Love can’t be measured, only felt from a natural reaction when we act.  The organic roots have been lying dormant attempting to root to find ways around roots that are connected and not growing love, joy, passion, peace and wealth.  Only growing into a ball of confusion, if you don’t start pruning now, these roots will grow together, becoming one.

When we remain withdrawn from letting others into our life, we’re begging to find shelter elsewhere.  We want to be comfortable in our own space.  I understand, if it’s a place filled with love and you can’t wait to get there, if it’s a place to escape from reality and we make choices like drugs, alcohol, or letting others abuse us for sexual exploitation, male or female, remember, we always go back to reality. Even if we choose to live or die, either way, every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

We must return home (reality) sooner or later.

Valuables vs. Values

How would you identify the most valuable values you have?  If we look at our values, it can determine what’s really valuable to us.   Go in deep and take a look at the valuables that add value, that’s unseen and yet foreseen, or let’s look at what we take for granted that has value and unforeseen.

  • Foreseen ~ In front.  You know.  Anticipate
  • Unforeseen ~ Unexpected…like an accident
  • Unseen ~ Hope trust oxygen believe
  • Values ~ Builds character. Integrity. Appreciation. Treasure.
  • Valuables ~ Costly. High Priced. Rare. Useful.

Valuable makes reference to monetary, costly, self esteem, rare and precious.  How much are you willing to pay for something?

The dollar amount you decide to pay will add monetary value.  Like Art, is only worth what someone is willing to pay.   Take a look at a Rembrandt painting or Picasso and other well known and unknown Artists.  These Artist place value in their natural ability to create, also their gift, talent, time, craft and belief which adds value to their production of productivity, their paintings being auctioned off for millions to the highest bidder.   The value of their abilities is priceless.  The mindset to use their natural buried treasures, a wealth of gifts and talents produces valuables. They pay by their time believing, learning, growing and all the while the canvas of their minds holds the picture of the end results that will be worth millions!  Don’t take for granted what lies within!

Now, let’s put ourselves up for Auction.  How much do you think someone will pay for you?  This is the only time true values will become more valuable than a piece of art, a car, house, jewelry, designer clothing, bribes, one night stands and get rich quick schemes!  The value will be placed on the hidden treasure buried within that creates your worth, natural talents, gifts, esteem, belief, power and the quality of the price you’re willing to pay.  There is no monetary value.  The only value being attached is through the energy of a higher power within you.  Jesus has already paid the price.  He died so that you may live and Get More in Life! A more abundant life, filled with love, joy, passion and a peace of mind.  Simply put trust and believe in Him.

Every heart beat is rated on a fixed amount.  Rates increase or they decrease. No different than an interest rate on a credit card or mortgage, fluctuating up and down.  Can you recall the last time your heart rate was up?  Why?  Does the reason still exist today?

There is nothing more valuable than you!  The price has already been paid for you.  This price gave you access to everything your heart desires.  You must desire to live a life filled with the spring of living water.  When you take one step toward believing in the power you have to charge a life, you desire to live to get more.  A life you do not have to bargain for.  You will have to pay, not a monetary price but a price that will add wisdom, knowledge and give you peace filled with love and joy while using the passion crafting the lifestyle of your dreams.

So, I would like to leave you with this.   Take a sheet of paper and make a T chart.  At the top write valuable and value. Then list everything that’s valuable, and on the other side write down your values.  See if there’s a negative or positive balance.  You are the only one who can make this decision.

‘Do as I say’ or ‘Do as I do!’
Start doing what you say!

Um,  I’m sure you’ve heard this before. If we turn it around and say, “Did I do what I said I was going to do?” Let’s look at it differently ( remember there’s more than one way to skin a cat): Are you doing everything within your power to create the lifestyle of your dreams?

When we constantly procrastinate, it allows fear to build, causing a lack in our lives. When we build on the intentions of not doing what we say we are going to do, before we act, our energy has already reacted. Words are powerful and once spoken, they’ve already gone out into the universe, only to return our true intentions back to us!

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1: 1-3

When you align your true intentions along with the right mindset, you can create the lifestyle of your dream. When your words begin to form, it takes the energy from the mind to the heart out the mouth, sending currents through the universe. It’s all within you!
